It is no exaggeration to say that Somei Yoshino, the most widely planted cherry tree in Japan, is synonymous with Japanese cherry blossoms. The most distinctive feature of Somei Yoshino is that the flowers bloom before the leaves appear and then bloom all at once. The sight of the flowers spreading across the ground is truly breathtaking. The short flowering period and the fact that they fall so quickly also give a sense of purity and transience. I created this blouse with Somei Yoshino in mind. The Somei Yoshino is expressed using a special process called salt shrinkage printing. The petals are more transparent, and the wrinkles create a three-dimensional look that makes the pattern stand out. I created a blouse with a neat and delicate feel.
