I've always wanted to use Indian block prints, and following our success in the summer, we're planning to use them again this fall. The charm of block prints lies in the simple lines created by the woodblocks and the color variations and misalignments that only hand-printing can produce. They have a rustic charm and depth of color that machines simply can't replicate. While HOKKOH's delicate and meticulously crafted printed fabrics are also wonderful, block prints offer a completely opposite kind of appeal. We've created a voluminous dress using a print one-piece with white flowers blooming on a greige base. Twenty tucks are placed on the front, and by folding them alternately to the left and right and securing them with stitches, they create a more impactful accent than regular pintucks.
