This stole is made from Banshu-ori Tencel™ fiber, which is soft and fluffy like a feather robe. The twill weave gives it an exceptionally beautiful sheen. Despite its large size, it is thin, so it has just the right amount of volume when wrapped around the neck and can be carried compactly. It also has a unique cooling sensation, making it comfortable to use for temperature regulation and sun protection in the summer.
Kawakami Textile, founded in 1934, is located in Taka-cho, Hyogo Prefecture, the birthplace of Banshu-ori textiles. They possess unique know-how in weaving fabrics with a balanced texture using fine 80-count Tencel™ yarn. Tencel™ is a naturally derived regenerated fiber made from renewable wood such as eucalyptus. It is characterized by its incredibly soft texture, but due to its delicate nature, it is prone to breaking during weaving when used as warp thread, making it extremely difficult to weave at the same speed as conventional fabrics. However, it is in this difficulty that they see the potential for originality and are working on "Banshu-ori with Tencel™." They have reviewed each step of the process, devised ways to adjust the tension of the yarn, and slowed down the weaving speed... Through trial and error, they have arrived at the creation of a uniquely attractive fabric. It is as smooth and light as silk, with a luxurious sheen and vibrant colors. Why not fully appreciate the wonderful fabrics, a testament to Kawakami Textile's passion and inquisitive spirit, in a large stole?
