It features the "Kurutoga" function of Sharp, where the core rotates to keep the tip sharp.

This model retains the ergonomic grip and iconic, functional metal clip that are hallmarks of the "LAMY Safari," while incorporating the Kuru Toga mechanical pencil mechanism. The Kuru Toga engine, which keeps the tip sharp by rotating, is the same as that used in the "Kuru Toga KS model," which minimizes tip wobble. With a mechanism that minimizes tip movement to the greatest extent possible, you will hardly feel any movement while writing, making this a pen that allows you to concentrate on writing.
[About KURUTOGA]
This product features the "Kurutoga Engine," a mechanism developed by Sharp for the first time, focusing on the tip of the lead. Conventional Sharp pencils suffered from "uneven wear," where the lead gradually wears down at an angle, resulting in problems such as thicker lines, breakage, and smudging of the paper due to the crumbled lead. To solve this, a mechanism was developed that rotates the lead itself. As the lead rotates slightly with each stroke,
(1) Allows for continuous writing of thin, clear lines.
(2) The tip of the lead is less likely to catch on the paper, resulting in a stable writing experience.
(3) No lead dust is produced, and the paper surface does not get dirty.
