The two orcas at Sumachy are actually mother and daughter: mother Stella and daughter Ran. We created an all-over pattern featuring the two of them, and sewed it into a cool cotton-linen shirt. They are about the same length, but Stella is a little bigger. We have carefully reflected the characteristics of the two whales in the design, such as the shape of their dorsal fins and the shape of the white patterns around their eyes. The model photos were taken in a restaurant on the first floor of Orcas Stadium. We had the cooperation of Stella & Ran, as well as their trainer, during the shoot, and we snapped a photo with the two models. It was a very enjoyable shoot.
We made clothes together with Kobe Suma Aqualife Park when we did the aquarium theme four years ago. It closed in May 2023 and had its grand opening as Kobe Suma Sea World in June last year. At the new Kobe Suma Sea World, you can see not only the fish that were there when it was an aquarium, but also killer whales. I was moved by the killer whale performance I saw when I was in elementary school, and I was looking forward to the killer whales coming to Kobe Suma Sea World this time. Apparently, killer whales are overwhelmingly popular not only with me, but also with visitors. So, although they are not technically fish, we unanimously decided to make clothes with the killer whales Stella & Ran as a motif. This time, it is a FELISSIMO 60th anniversary commemorative product with the "Sea Fund" promoted by FELISSIMO 's "Sea and seagull club".
