Adorable Kumiko-crafted amulet netsuke

Kumiko craftsmanship has long been used to decorate joinery. We've created a charm netsuke kit that allows you to easily experience this beautiful, traditional technique and enjoy using it in a lovely way. Kawashima Tategu of Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, took on the challenge of creating a miniature 6mm thick piece. The cypress and walnut parts, carved with the artisans' keen eye and expert technique, are simply combined according to the instructions to create a sharp, intricate pattern. We're also thrilled by the design they came up with for this occasion, which blends tradition and modernity. The netsuke is completed by weaving wax cord through wooden beads as accents. The auspicious patterns make it perfect as a charm. It's also recommended as a subtle gift, filled with a small wish.
