This is a collaboration project to realize ideas from people who are particular about basic clothes. This time, we created “items that we really want” with stylist Mari Nagasaka, who also does styling for the Three Fifty Standard catalogue.
Nagasaka had been searching for a short outerwear piece that would be just right for driving. This conversation led to the creation of this zip-up blouson with a boxy silhouette inspired by men's clothing. The design is minimalist, with no unnecessary elements at all costs. Parts such as zippers and dot buttons are all black to avoid standing out. The length makes it easy to wear casually and it can be worn daily, but the fabric is also key to making it look sophisticated just by putting it on. "We selected a fabric with a firm texture and a glossy finish that has been mercerized, and we designed it in a way that would bring out the quality of the clothing itself," says Nagasaka.
It can be worn as a layered item under a coat in winter, and as a main outerwear in spring and autumn, making it a versatile piece for three seasons. The dot buttons on the hem allow you to adjust the length, so you can enjoy changing the silhouette to suit your style.
