In Buddhism, especially Zen Buddhism, cleaning is considered a practice of "facing oneself and tidying up one's mind and environment." As you sweep away the dirt around you, your mind naturally becomes calmer and brighter. In this program, you will learn how to approach cleaning with a positive mindset while learning about Zen teachings through texts and cards. By understanding the meaning of tidying up each area and incorporating the temple cleaning method of focusing on short periods of cleaning into your daily life, your home and your mind will become neat and tidy, and after six months, your entire house will be beautiful. Cleaning, which you may have felt was "difficult" or "troublesome," will become a precious time to face your own mind. This change in mindset will create a lifelong habit that won't revert back.
