This Pocket towel handkerchief is modeled after the "Large Plate-Shaped Clay Figurine" unearthed at the Sannai-Maruyama site. Made to almost life-size, it might give you the feeling of holding a real clay figurine. By placing the body into the head Pocket, you can recreate the state the large plate-shaped clay figurine was in when it was unearthed, with the head and body separated. The head Pocket is also convenient for concealing makeup or toiletries.

Sannai-Maruyama Site x museumbu Large Plate-Shaped Clay Figurine Pocket Towel Handkerchief

The largest clay figurine from the Sannai-Maruyama site, the "Large Plate-Shaped Clay Figurine," has been reproduced in almost its original size.

Folding method 1: Spread out the towel.

Folding method 2: Fold the torso of the clay figurine inwards.

Folding method 3: Store the folded body inside the head of the clay figurine.

This piece recreates the state of the "large, flat clay figurine" as it appeared when it was discovered, showing only the head.

The back of the head is also reproduced with printing.

The reverse side of the body is made of pile fabric, so it can also be used as a hand towel.

You can also use your head as Pocket.

Important Cultural Property "Large Plate-Shaped Clay Figurine" Middle Jomon Period (3000 BC) Length 32.4cm This is the largest clay figurine found at the Sannai-Maruyama site. The whole thing is cruciform with outstretched arms, and when viewed from the side it is thin and flat, hence it is called a plate-shaped clay figurine. The head was excavated from the northern mound, and the body was excavated from the remains of a pit dwelling 90m away, and the two were joined together.
