The Four Seasons Flowers and Birds Folding Screen, an important cultural property, is a gorgeous depiction of the flowers and birds of the four seasons. The National Treasure Autumn/Winter Landscape is painted with rough yet delicate lines and bold compositions. The design incorporates three works from the National Treasure Amanohashidate, which depicts beautiful landscapes in great detail. Sesshu is known for his landscape paintings, but he also created many Buddhist paintings and paintings of flowers and birds. In addition to the original, this work has inspired many painters through a copy by Tomasu Kumoya (owned by Tofukuji Temple).
