I've been using it continuously since September, and I think it's working because when I look inside the air conditioner's fins, I can no longer see any black mold. When I used the fan on high, black clumps would sometimes fall out, but that seems to be fine now. Also, the air that came out when I was using the cooling function had a slight smell, but I've noticed that it's no longer noticeable. Now that I've started using the heating function, there's absolutely no smell. When I clean the filter, I spray it with the mist type and let it dry before reattaching it, so it might be having a double effect. I plan to buy the attachable type again in the future.
