Each space bead seems to contain a universe. The captivating ultramarine blue created by the hands of glass artisan Kyoko Matsuoka, and the galaxy floating within, are a miracle born from the chemical reaction between glass and silver. They are made into ear accessories that catch the light, sparkling and changing in appearance, giving off a gorgeous aura. A one-of-a-kind universe, just for you, in your ear.
Glass Artisan Kyoko Matsuoka Inspired by her father, who runs the shop "Pass + Time," which began with a passion for antique beads, Kyoko Matsuoka embarked on her career as a glass artisan. She currently creates original glass beads in the shop's workshop. She works with glass every day with joy, imagining the beads and accessories she creates will be passed down to others 100 or 200 years from now. While mixing red and blue paint produces purple, this is not the case with glass. While achieving color in glass is difficult, Matsuoka says that this is what makes it so fascinating. Her father even set up his own workshop and pursued color exploration, saying, "I want to source various types of glass and see the colors that result from their chemical reactions." They used silver to create the blue they were aiming for. After experimenting with various types of glass and silver from various countries, they discovered the right materials, mastered the techniques, and arrived at the secret recipe after 10 years of trial and error.
