el:ment［エルメント］|el:ment　藤の花が凛と咲く　畳縁遣いのじゃばらがま口財布|1892年、明治25年に始まった髙田織物の歴史。岡山県では日本で使われている畳縁の約80%を生産しており、うち約45%のシェアを誇るメーカーです。高度経済成長期には畳敷きの和室で最盛期を迎えるものの、住宅の洋風化にともない徐々に衰退した背景から、ニーズに合わせた革新的でインテリア性の高い色やデザインの開発に尽力されています。また建材の畳縁に「ハンドメイド素材」という新たな価値を生み出し、「より多くの方々に楽しんでもらいたい」と多彩なバリエーションを展開中されています。

The tatami mat border is made of durable, smooth polyethylene and cotton-like polyester canvas.

Takada Textiles' history began in 1892, the 25th year of the Meiji era. Okayama Prefecture produces approximately 80% of the tatami mat borders used in Japan, with the company boasting a 45% market share. While tatami-floored Japanese-style rooms reached their peak during the period of rapid economic growth, they gradually declined as homes became more Western-style. Takada Textiles has therefore dedicated itself to developing innovative, interior-friendly colors and designs to meet customer needs. Takada Textiles has also created new value in the form of "handmade materials" for tatami mat borders, a building material, and is currently offering a wide variety of variations with the aim of "making them enjoyable for as many people as possible."
