The Kyoto hand-printed cobblestone pattern adds a touch of elegance to genuine leather

The cobblestone pattern is hand-printed in Kyoto on Himeji leather. This is a parent-child clasp wallet that allows you to enjoy the taste of hand-dyeing by skilled artisans in Rakuhoku, Kyoto, every day. It opens wide for easy viewing and access to the contents. The plump shape with gussets and the textured texture created by the steaming process feel comfortable in the hand, making it a piece that you will grow to love more and more with time.

We commissioned a dyeing factory in Rakuhoku, Kyoto, that specializes in printing onto leather using Kyo-Yuzen techniques. Using special ink and silk screen techniques, artisans hand-dye each piece of Himeji leather to create a cobblestone pattern. After dyeing, the leather is sun-dried, but in this case, the leather is steamed to create a unique grained texture. Enjoy the smooth, comfortable feel and special finish.
