Last articleFollowing on from our previous interview, we spoke with Tsumami-zaiku artist Yoshie Mahiko about Tsumami-zaiku. In this second part, we asked her about the "charm" of Tsumami-zaiku.
The joy of simple work that requires neither needle nor thread.

The charm of tsumami zaiku lies, above all, in its delicate beauty. She also loves the simplicity of the process, which involves no needles or thread, just folding and gluing. "You fold and glue a square piece of fabric. It's just a repetition of that, but before you know it, a beautiful flower is formed in your hands. That process is the most enjoyable part," says Yoshie Mahiko.
No sketches or designs are provided.

Her works are so adorable and beautiful that they're breathtaking, but what's surprising is that Yoshie Mahiko never prepares sketches or drawings when she's designing. She first visualizes the finished product in her mind and then creates the piece by recreating that image.
Color matching based on inspiration

The works, renowned for their impeccable sense of color combination, are determined by Yoshie Mahiko's innate talent and inspiration. This is a unique approach to creation, stemming from her own love of drawing since childhood.Next time, we'll cover tips on how to make tsumami zaiku (traditional Japanese fabric flower craft). Will be introduced.
Featuring products supervised by Yoshie Mahiko, "Tsumami Zaiku" is a craft where beautiful works of art are created through the simple process of cutting, folding, and pasting. No needles or thread are needed, so even those who are not good at sewing can try it. Kits are available to suit different skill levels, so please find the kit that is perfect for you.
