Cut the leather and make holes.

Prepare your preferred leather from a craft store or specialty shop. Cut the leather as shown in the diagram and punch holes for the stitching. Working with thick leather can be difficult, so beginners are advised to choose slightly thinner leather.

Next, sew with thicker thread.

Sew a running stitch along the holes, connecting the two pieces of A and the top edge of B. Sew back and forth with a running stitch. Adding initials would be a nice touch!

Sew the three pieces together!

Layer pieces A-1, A-2, and B and sew them together. Use a running stitch here as well. Now that we've sewn together the previously separate parts, it's starting to look more and more like the real thing!

A little ingenuity adds a special touch!

Finally, we put the ring through. This ring makes a nice accent.

Leather is just great!

It's finally finished! The leather will change its appearance the more you use it, so my daily commute is sure to be a little more enjoyable. I wonder if I should make another one in a different color of leather.

If you've fallen in love with the charm of leather, why not try making a leather brooch next? The texture of genuine leather is very stylish and makes a perfect accent for your autumn and winter fashion!
