This time, I'll explain how to handle embroidery thread.

About embroidery thread

A commonly used embroidery thread is called "No. 25 embroidery thread." It is sold in bundles called "skeins." One skein of No. 25 embroidery thread is approximately 8 meters long.

Method of cutting into 8 pieces of 1m each

If you are only going to use it for embroidery, remove the label, place the loop of the thread bundle in your hand, and gently pull the two ends of the thread to unravel it completely. Once unraveled, divide the thread into eight equal parts so that they overlap, fold them, thread them through the label as shown in the picture, and cut off one end.

How to use it without cutting

When using embroidery thread as knitting thread, it's more convenient to use it as is, without cutting it, by simply pulling out the required amount. In that case, gently pull out the thread that's sticking out. It's helpful to remember that the width of a skein is about 16cm, so pulling it out one way back will give you about 32cm, and pulling it out three times back will give you about 1m.

How to make a whole one

No. 25 embroidery thread consists of six thin strands bundled together. When using multiple strands, such as two or three, it is important to take them out one at a time to prevent tangling.

Don't pull it sideways! It will cause it to get tangled!

Pull the threads upwards one by one, straightening the curled threads after each pull. Once you have pulled out the required number of threads, straighten them together and use.
