◆What is shrink plastic?
Shrink plastic is a type of craft where you draw on a plastic sheet and then shrink and harden it in an oven toaster or similar appliance. It requires few materials and is easy to make. The possibilities for expression are endless depending on how you arrange it! Here, we'll introduce the basic method for making shrink plastic crafts.
◆Materials and tools required
♢Materials
- Shrink plastic (thickness is up to you)
• Art supplies such as oil-based pens
Adhesives and accessory parts, etc.
♢Tools
• Toaster oven
·Aluminum foil
Two thick books
・ Scissors

◆Let's actually make some shrink plastic!

① Place the shrink plastic sheet over the design and trace the picture using your preferred art supplies. Since the shrink plastic is transparent, you can easily trace the design.

② Cut it into your desired shape with scissors. Be careful as the edges of the plastic sheet are sharp!

③ Place it on a tray lined with aluminum foil and heat it in a toaster oven until it has completely shrunk and become flat. The degree of shrinkage will vary depending on the thickness of the plastic sheet.

④ Carefully remove the aluminum foil, being careful not to burn yourself as it will be hot.

⑤ Before it cools completely, place the plastic sheet between the pages of a thick book and flatten it out.

⑥ Attach a brooch pin to the back of a piece of felt cut to the same size as the shrunk plastic sheet, and glue them together. Choose your favorite parts to create your brooch.

done!
★More ways to enjoy shrink plastic★
POINT ① When colored plastic shrinks...
The way the colors appear will vary depending on the art supplies you use. Colored pencils won't adhere well to the smooth surface of plastic sheets, so sand the surface beforehand.

POINT ② Material arrangement on the back ♪
The impression changes completely just by using a different material on the back! Enjoy the overlapping effect with the back using colored paper or origami paper.
