  • A-1prelude
Chocolate is made from the fruit of the cacao tree, which is formally known as Theobroma cacao, using various manufacturing processes. Chocolate's unique flavor and aroma are derived from fermenting and roasting the seeds of this fruit, called cacao beans.
For years, the cacao bean husks have been discarded as they are not needed in chocolate production. However, as they retain the aroma of the cacao beans and contain various nutrients, they have begun to be utilized in cacao tea and organic farming.
In our museum, we present the many charms of chocolate through various themed exhibits. Begin your visit by experiencing the scent and shape of cacao bean husks, the roots of chocolate, through this installation.
For this exhibit, we have collaborated with artist Koichiro Kimura. We hope you enjoy the contrast between the primitive cacao husks and the refined functional beauty of Kimura's objet d'art.

Based on this notion, we dedicated our museum to collecting, preserving, and managing chocolate packaging and passing it on to future generations.
In this space, we showcase our unique collection of packages (including donated items), with future exhibits to be centered on various themes such as brand, era, material, and color.
